Blockboard is a high-performance engineered wood panel constructed by edge-bonding strips of softwood (typically pine or fir) into a solid core, then sandwiching this core between layers of wood veneer on both faces. The result is a panel that is significantly lighter than solid timber or particleboard of the same thickness, yet delivers excellent bending strength, rigidity, and resistance to warping. Blockboard's solid core also provides superior screw-holding capacity on both face and edge — a critical advantage for applications like door manufacturing, shelf construction, and partition systems.
